Coupon codes are are a great way to offer promotions for your park. By applying a code at checkout, guests can save a portion of their order. Watch the video below for an overview of how to create your own coupon codes and a demonstration of how these codes work in the booking flow.
Access your coupon settings
Coupon settings can be found in your main settings page. To access them, click on your camp name in the top right corner, and choose “Settings.” Then, choose “Coupons” from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
Create or edit a coupon
To create a coupon, click the blue “Add Coupon” button. You will then be prompted to enter the coupon information.
- Name: The internal name for the coupon.
- Code: The code guests will enter at checkout to redeem the coupon. Click the clipboard to the right of this field to copy your code.
- Discount type: Determines the coupon category.
- Percent: takes a percentage off of the order subtotal
- Amount off subtotal: takes a flat dollar amount off of the order subtotal. Does not depend on the reservation amount or the length of stay.
- Nightly amount off: takes a flat dollar amount off for each night of a reservation.
- Flat rate: offers the guest a flat rate for their entire stay. Does not depend on the reservation amount or the length of stay.
- Max redemptions: The maximum number of times a coupon code can be used before it expires for all guests. Redemptions are tracked on the coupon settings page, and will show a denominator if a maximum redemption number has been set. (ex: 3 / 50) If no Max redemptions number is set, a coupon can be used an unlimited number of times, though guests can only ever apply 1 coupon per reservation.
- Active dates: Determines the date interval in which the coupon can be redeemed. If expiration dates are entered, the coupon will only be able to applied for bookings made within that time, though the reservation dates are not constrained. If no expiration dates are entered, the coupon can be redeemed at any time.
Redeem a coupon
If any coupon codes are currently active for your park, an “Add Coupon” section will be added to the checkout page of your booker. Here, guests can enter a coupon code and click “Apply Coupon” to check it. If the code is valid, the appropriate discount will be applied to their order. If it is not, a warning will be shown to the guest, and no discount will be applied.
Guests can apply a maximum of one coupon code to each order. Coupon codes can be combined with discounts that you offer.
Distribute coupon codes to your guests
There are many ways to distribute coupon codes to your guests. Here are some suggestions:
- Include a coupon code on your website, next to your booking buttons. This is a good choice if you want anyone to be able to use your coupon, like if you are offering a promotion for a grand opening.
- Use automated messages to send guests a “returning customer” coupon code after checkout.
- Run a promotional campaign with a limited number of redemptions. Set a “Max redemptions” value, and advertise that only the first 50 bookings will get the special rate.
- Offer a coupon code raffle in your camp store.
- Send “rain check” codes to guests that need to cancel their bookings.
