Stripe terminals allow guests to pay by tapping or swiping a card, bypassing the need to manually enter card information. If you frequently take in-person card payments at your camp office or store, setting up a terminal can be a good way to streamline payments. You can always enter credit cards manually in your POS if purchasing a terminal is cost-prohibitive.
In this article, we will cover how to set up and use a Stripe terminal with Park.
Supported terminals
Park integrates with the following Stripe smart readers:
- BBPOS WisePOS E
This reader supports EMV chip card payments, contactless payments, digital wallets, and magstripe cards. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and may be connected via Ethernet through a dock or hub. The battery can last for up to 250 hours in standby mode and up to 12 hours of active use between charges.
The WisePOS E is priced at $249 USD.

- Stripe S700
The S700 is a higher-end smart reader that offers a more streamlined and modern user experience. Like the WisePOS E, it supports chip, tap, and swipe payments, and connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The S700 features an updated design, a larger screen, and enhanced performance.
The S700 is priced higher than the WisePOS E but may be worth the investment for campgrounds that handle a large volume of in-person payments.

⚠️ Important
Connecting your terminal to Park
Please also see Stripe’s support article on how to Set up BBPOS WisePOS E. Once the terminal is turned on and connected to the internet, proceed with the following steps to connect your terminal to Park.
- Access the terminal settings in your Stripe dashboard
- Under “locations,” choose an existing location or create a new one by clicking “+ New”
- In your location, select “+ Register reader”
- On the terminal, open the settings by swiping right from the left edge of the screen and clicking the “settings” button that is revealed
- In the settings, click “Generate pairing code.” This will give you a three-word code, like apple-grape-orange.
- In your Stripe dashboard, enter the provided pairing code under “Registration code.” You may optionally enter a name for your terminal under “Reader name.” Once you are ready, click “Done.”
- Your terminal will now appear under the “Readers” section. A reader ID in the form tmr_xxx will be listed next to it. Send this code to support@poweredbypark.com - we will finish the integration on our end, and notify you when your reader is ready to use.
Taking payments with the terminal
Once your terminal is connected, a new option to “Take payment with card reader” will appear under the credit card payment option in the point of sale. Select this option and click “Charge” on the bottom-right of the point of sale, and the reader will light up to accept payment. Now your guest can tap or swipe their card to complete the transaction.
